TCS

TCS  HD-TCS-MIx     M1 Two Function Micro Decoder                  $54.90

This decoder is small enough for N scale but strong enough for HO! From the start the design criteria for the M1 decoder was to make it small for N scale but fully capable of powering HO locos! At 0.355" wide and 0.132" thick it will fit in many N-scale locos. With its smooth and strong 1amp motor drive it is well-suited for many HO locos especially where space is at a premium.

Features
• Auto detect allows operation on DCC only or DCC and DC power. TCS decoders are almost transparent on DC, making the engine act like a decoder isn't there. Brake on DC allows you to control the lights while the train is in a DC block.

• Quiet Drive is active at all times, which greatly reduces engine noise.

• Dither provides rapid bursts of power to overcome resistance. You control both the power and frequency. See slow speeds unequalled in the industry.

• Lighting Effects: Auto-reversing headlights, Blinking Ditch Lights, Mars, Gyra, Rotary Beacon, Single- and Double-Pulse Strobe, Opposite Dim, Flashing and Random flicker. Rule 17 headlight dimming can be set to occur when stopped, opposite the direction of travel, or both. You always have manual control.

• Button Control allows you to pick the control buttons of your choice.

• Factory Reset lets you change most of your choices back to their factory default values if you get into a situation you don't like.

• 128 speed steps are active when Mid volts, Top volts, Start volts or the user- loadable speed table is active for much smoother operation.

• Primary 2-digit addressing or advanced 4-digit addressing may be used.

• Consist Addressing has a Special Feature allowing you to automatically turn off any undesired lighting when you add the engine to a consist.

• TCS decoders support all programming modes plus OPS mode ( on-track programming ) and meet NMRA DCC standards for compatibility.

These are the high end of today's decoder development. They can decode several digital formats, have adjustable engine characteristics, acceleration/brake inertia, minimum and maximum speed, as well as an adjustable medium speed. The control of the locomotive engine uses place with load balancing and an engine drive with a frequency from 18.75 kHz, which ensures quiet engine running. The travel direction dependent lighting and the special function outputs are dimmable. An additional adjustable shunting gear makes fine speed control possible in the low-speed operating range and can be switched on and off by F3. The acceleration/brake inertia can be switched on and off by F4.

The decoders are also suitable for conventional DC and AC operation with automatic change-over. Multi¬protocol decoders can be run in the old or new Motorola format or in the DCC with 14, 27, 28 or 128 speed steps. In Motorola format the address range is 80 addresses and in DCC format 9999 addresses. The decoders are programmable with Motorola and DCC centers, with all known programming types.

Multi-protocol decoders can be updated in the Flash Memory. They are protected from overheating and all outputs are short-circuit proof.

From the mini decoder up all Multi¬protocol decoders have the SUSI sound interface (4 pole mini socket) for connecting sound modules or modules for controlling auxiliary functions.

The 76 200 is a special decoder for locomotives with universal motors from Märklin or HAG. The decoder operates without a permanent magnet, i.e. the motor does not need to be converted. This decoder also has the SUSI sound interface, which makes it possible to connect IntelliSound Sound modules.

INTELLISOUND - FOR GENUINE TRAIN SOUNDS! FOR ALL DECODERS WITH SUSI INTERFACE

IntelliSound is the digital sound system from Uhlenbrock/DIETZ. Up to now not available in HO, the tone quality and originality of the sound will convince you.

The separation of the decoder and sound into two very small units and the extremely efficient small loudspeaker with metal diaphragm make IntelliSound well suited to cramped space conditions.

The sounds of the sound module are built up from three separate sound channels. The module can store up to 40 seconds of original sound. Using an intelligent sound controller the individually stored original sounds are played according to operating conditions and provide a driving experience similar to a genuine train.

The module can differentiate the individual situations stop, acceleration, normal travel, no-load operation and deceleration. The sound controller recognizes whether the locomotive drives uphill or downhill.

Depending upon the situation, the correct sounds are played automatically. Thus in a stationary steam locomotives you hear the coal shovelling, the hissing of the steam cylinder, and the injector. On starting loud steam releases are audible, in no load operation the noise of the free running drive bars can be heard. If the locomotive is braking, then naturally the squealing of brakes is played. When for example a diesel locomotive is switched on or off, the starting of the engine and/or running down of the engine is audible.

With each module two further noises can be dynamically inserted into the driving sound. This can, depending upon vehicle type, be a whistle, a bell, a horn or the pantograph lifter in the case of an electric locomotive.

In conjunction with our load regulated Multi-protocol decoders the sound module is suitable for all DCC-and Motorola Digital system.

The IntelliSound modules are supplied with loudspeakers and resonance bodies. The modules have 70 mm long cables with plug for the connection to the SUSI socket. As accessories a distributor cable is available, with which 2 sound modules can be attached to a decoder. The cable can also be used as an extension.
